The Baldé is a strikingly beautiful live-edge console table. It is made from a single piece of Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) tropical hardwood from Mexico. This exceptionally tough hardwood slab was specially chosen by Made In Del Mar for its shape and magnificent color. As was expected, it did take some extra love and extra elbow grease to transform this tough wood into the elegant console table pictured above.

Cocobolo is a rare tropical hardwood native to Central America. Cocobolo is stronger and denser than Brazilian Rosewood. It can rapidly blunt tools when it is worked in the shop and can be a challenging medium to work with. But the extra effort is well rewarded!
